The Family Collection

We are proud to present ‘The Family Collection’, featuring limited edition labels of our adored Family Wines; our Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz and our Gigglepot Cabernet Sauvignon.

After several years of careful cellaring, we are delighted to showcase both varietals with their unique profiles and stylistic nuances across three distinct vintages, 2019, 2020 and 2021. If you are a Gigglepot fan, you may remember that we did not release a 2019 vintage due to a small yield. In turn, we safely cellared the limited bottles, we did make, especially for this limited-edition collectors release.

For these limited-edition labels, we wanted to create something extra special beyond the original photographs of The Blue Eyed Boy and The Gigglepot in their youth. The portraits are actually two real-life oil paintings by talented South Australian Contemporary Artist, Joshua Miels. Over the course of 6 months, we worked with Josh to bring The Blue Eyed Boy and The Gigglepot to life, in an entirely new and powerful way. “My art aims to capture the human face in its most neutral state, stripping away the facade of expression to reveal the true essence beneath. The intricacies of the human face have long captivated me, as subtle differences create our individual identities. Each piece I create is built through the process of adding layer upon layer of paint. I deliberately retain elements of previous layers, embracing imperfections in my technique. For me, this mirrors the human experience – marked by highs and lows; without adversity, we can never strive to be the best version of ourselves.”
