WHO IS THE BLUE EYED BOY?
The Blue Eyed Boy is Sarah’s son, Luke. Stomping grapes as a kid and now heading up the Mollydooker Sales Team.
TASTING NOTES:
The colour and fragrance of plum provide an alluring first glance, with gentle notes of strawberry and mocha filling the aroma. Expressive, rich fruit adds elements of blueberries and molten chocolate, while subtle tannins create a silky mouthfeel. The balance of intense fruit with artfully applied American oak has ensured the 2019 Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz is exceptional in quality and finish.
TECHNICAL NOTES:
The grapes were grown on the Coppermine Road, Gateway, Long Gully Road and Mollydooker Home vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Joppich Vineyard in Langhorne Creek. Barrel fermented and matured in 100% American oak, using 54% new and 46% one year old barrels. The required Marquis Fruit Weight™ for the Family Series is 75% – 85%. The Actual Fruit Weight for 2019 Blue Eyed Boy is 79%.

Initially, flavours of ripe blackberry and cassis are accompanied by hints of raspberry and chocolate coffee cream. The wine’s supple tannins and velvety mouthfeel complement the richness of the flavors, maintaining an exquisite balance and finesse throughout the tasting experience.
