Mollydooker Secures the Top Three Spots in Wine Spectator’s Australian & New Zealand Wine Review

We’ve got some HUGE news to share… and we think it’s worth pouring a celebratory glass. In the Wine Spectator’s August review cycle for Australia & New Zealand, Mollydooker claimed the top three spots in a lineup of 24 exceptional wines.

We’ve been lucky enough to receive some incredible recognition over the years, but taking out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in one go? We’re proud!

More than just a great result, this recognition is a testament to the winemaking philosophy behind every Mollydooker bottle. From The Mollydooker Shake to our focus on the Marquis Fruit Weight and our unique Marquis Vineyard Watering Program, every decision we make from vine to wine is about crafting wines of consistency, flavour and personality.

And while each of these three wines has its own unique style, they all showcase what makes Mollydooker so unique.

What makes this even more exciting is that these aren’t rare collector’s bottles tucked away in a cellar. They’re Mollydooker favourites you already know and love. 

Here’s a look at the lineup that stole the spotlight:
#1 Gigglepot 2023 ~ 92 points
“A distinctive version, with fragrant herbal notes that leap out of the glass, including fresh sage, wild thyme, rosemary and toasted cumin seed. Dark, brambly wild berry flavors are generous and plump, with accents of espresso bean, bittersweet chocolate and eucalyptus that linger on the finish.”

#2 The Scooter 2023 ~ 90 points
“An aromatic red, with notes of mahogany and sandalwood that complement the core of wild berry, plum and huckleberry flavors, plus date-nut bread, fresh-cracked black pepper and cedar details that linger on the lush finish.”

#3 The Boxer 2023 ~ 90 points
“Bittersweet chocolate and touches of fresh mint and rich mocha are an appealing entry to the core notes of maraschino cherry, plum, cardamom and clove as they carry the aromatics through the finish, where the plump tannins firm up slightly.”

All three of these wines are available in the US right now, so if you’ve been thinking about revisiting some favourites, this might be the perfect excuse.
