The Violinist
WHO IS THE VIOLINIST?
The Violinist is Sarah, a lefty who was made to play the violin with her right hand at school so she didn’t poke her neighbour in the eye with her bow.
TASTING NOTES:
Known for its fragrant tropical fruit nose and generous palate, the 2021 Violinist Verdelho is no exception to its past. Aromas of pineapple and lychee combine with vanilla to create a creamy mouthfeel that is reminiscent of the French Oak it is aged in. Toasty coconut and hints of honeysuckle linger on the palate creating a long and seamless finish.
TECHNICAL NOTES:
The grapes were grown on the Gemtree vineyard in McLaren Vale. One third is Barrel fermented and matured in 67% new American oak and 33% new French oak. The remaining two thirds is tank fermented and matured. The required Marquis Fruit Weight™ for the Lefty Series is 65% – 75%. The Actual Fruit Weight for 2020 The Violinist is 66%.
